In the upscale neighbourhood of Saket in New Delhi, a ragpicker has quietly, determinedly been changing the lives of hundreds of stray dogs. Dubbed the “Mother of Strays” by the area’s residents, Pratima Devi has been feeding and caring for about 300 dogs in the neighbourhood. She happily sacrifices every penny she makes, sometimes going without food herself, to take care of her many dependents. And inspired by her selfless action, canine lovers in the neighbourhood have joined her by lending out a helping hand. Watch her inspiring story.
